Vespa tra le palme

Il MIC (Museo dell’illustrazione Comica) sito in Piazza Kursaal a Grottammare (AP) ospita, fino al 31 ottobre 2008, la mostra “Vespa tra le palme – viaggio nel mito” dedicata alla Vespa, testimone, da più di sessant’anni, della storia, del costume e della memoria nazionale.
L’ennesimo omaggio appassionato ad un veicolo indimenticabile il cui mito continua ad alimentarsi nel presente con sedici milioni di esemplari prodotti dal 1946.
La mostra, articolata in quattro sezioni (IN VIAGGIO CON VESPA – I TROFEI – IL FASCINO DI UN MITO – GLI ANTAGONISTI), è un vero e proprio viaggio nel tempo.
Tra i mezzi esposti spiccano il primo modello prodotto in serie dalla Piaggio e la Vespa “6 giorni” del 1951 (con cui la squadra Piaggio nella 26^ 6 giorni internazionale di Varese conquista nove medaglie d’oro su 10 corridori partiti) ed una serie di scooter similari e alternativi con cui le aziende rivali cercarono di contrastare il prodotto della Piaggio, come ad esempio: lo scooter americano Salsbury, l’Orix Prima 125, la Ducati Cruiser e la Lambretta Modello A, prima serie.
Si potranno, inoltre, ammirare foto d’epoca, targhe, manifesti, ceramiche, ricordi dei giri vespistici, placche dei raduni, giocattoli, ecc…

Nearly sixty years have passed and sixteen million pieces since 1946, when the most famous scooter of the world made is debut with the Vespa 98.
Now the exhibition “Vespa tra le palme” confirms once again that the Vespa is history, costume and memory. A passionate tribute to an unforgettable vehicle whose myth continues in the present.
The Vespa, a symbol of freedom and problemless, almost immediately became a “subject” of cult.
The exhibition is a real journey through time, on board an immortal symbol, through the influences of different periods.
Everything to tell the evolution of morals and growth of an entire social system.
The exhibition is divided into 4 section.
1 – ON THE ROAD WITH THE VESPA
You can find the first model produced by Piaggio July 1946 and the Vespa “& days” of 1951 with which the team Piaggio on the 26th 6 days international Varese conquest nine gold medals on a total of 10 runners.
2 – TROPHIES
In this section traces the history of the Vespa Club of Italy from 1949 to 1971 (closing) with historic references and trophies of the most important gatherings and tourist trips.
3 – THE CHARM OF A MYTH
You can admire: vintage photos, plaques, posters, ceramics, memories of laps Vespa, plaques of rallies, advertisements, toys.
4 – THE ANTAGONISTS
The boom in production and trade of the Vespa Piaggio has unleashed from rival companies the marketing of alternative and similar models. Present means: scooter American Salsbury, Orix Before 125, Ducati Cruiser, Lambretta Model A, first series.
